I am back..
7.55am. A Saturday morning.
In my bedroom with the air-conditioner temperature fixed at 24 degree celsius. (The weather's quite hot these days eh?) Sitting at my table. On my laptop, I am penning my latest blog entry after about 1 month's absence. Sorry to any readers out there (which I suspect none..lol) who have been anticipating my next blog entry.
Here is a recent photo of myself. Taken at a dinner date with Huiyi and Xuande at a Hongkong restaurant in VivoCity in February.
What I am up to these days?
Yup, working on SHINE Youth Festival, which is now into its 5th year. Started in 2005, SHINE is a youth festival jointly organised by National Youth Council (NYC) and Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports. Oh did I forget to mention that it is an idea conceived by members of the "Youth Action" workgroup in the MCYS Youth Consultation Exercise 2004? Hehe, I was a member of the workgroup which promotes youth volunteerism.

Held every July, it is a festival where youths organise, lead and endorse events. It aims to showcase our Singaporean youths' talents, encourage community contributions and profile young role models. Yeah, Stars of SHINE! In short, SHINE is all about youths, for youths and will feature an exciting line-up of events organised entirely by youths themselves. This year, SHINE opens on 27 June 2009 and closes on 1 August 2009.
I am in the Launch & Planning Taskforce group, programming sub-comm of the Organising Committee 2009. Guess what, we think of using dominos as the launch pad idea for SHINE this year. In fact, I even sought help from MediaCorp host, Bryan Wong. However, due to certain constraints faced, on Thursday night, our head notified us via email that we now have to think a Plan B.
Sigh. Gonna put on thinking caps again to come up with a different launch pad concept.

Interested anyone?
Are you daring enough to experience thrills like this? Are you physically fit, with an open mind?

I'll be leading a group of 135 participants for the "Mothers' Day Celebration outing - A Night Out In the City" tomorrow. 5pm - 10.30pm.
It will be dinner at Sakura International Buffet (Orchard branch) followed by a trip to the Singapore Flyer for a dazzling view of the Singapore city skyline at night. Stalks of carnation flowers will given to mothers during dinner.
Hope everything goes well.
